We booked our trip shortly before a storm moved in, and Captain Mike called to give us the option to cancel since the fishing had been slow the day before and conditions were getting tougher. We decided to go anyway—and it paid off. We limited out on trout, and Mike knew exactly where to take us to make the most of a challenging day. He put us on fish when it mattered. Awesome guy—highly recommend getting out on the water with Captain Mike!

Wow—just wow! From the first minute to the last, Captain Mike was on point. He put us on fish and made the day unforgettable. Even if we hadn’t caught a single one, it still would have been worth it. He was friendly, fun, and even spent the day talking to the fish, trying to convince them to bite. If you want a great day on the water no matter what, go with Captain Mike. Aye aye, Captain!

Mike was excellent—he knew exactly what fish we were after and where to find them. I brought my elderly father and my young son, who was new to boating, and Mike made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable the entire time. He was especially patient with my son, who spent more time catching everything but fish, yet Mike never lost patience or focus. He got us on bluefish and speckled trout, and even a few skates. Never felt rushed—Mike let the trip run its course naturally. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. If you want a relaxed, family-friendly trip with a captain who’s great with kids, go with Sounds Good Charter. I definitely will again.

We had an awesome day fishing and exploring with the family. None of us are experienced anglers, but Mike walked us through everything, and by the end of the trip, everyone was casting. My daughter just wanted to swim, but ended up catching a bluefish—and now she’s hooked. Can’t wait for our next trip with El Capitan!

This was a last-minute trip, and Captain Mike had no problem fitting us in. From the moment we met him at the dock, we knew we made the right choice. He’s friendly, knows the Sound well, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Within 15 minutes of anchoring, we had trout on the line—and four in the cooler within the hour, all over 20 inches. When the bite slowed, he moved us to look for drum. We didn’t find any, but still picked up a few more fish. Solid boat, quality gear, and a top-notch captain. Great experience all around!

We had an amazing experience with Captain Mike aboard Sounds Good. My wife, 16-year-old son, and I were fortunate to secure a last-minute trip, made possible by excellent pre-trip communication. Arriving early, we found the live well stocked with bait and Captain Mike ready to depart. We headed to a reef site where we landed numerous stunning speckled trout. Throughout, Captain Mike ensured fresh live baits on some rods while accommodating our preference for artificial casting. He graciously adjusted colors and replaced damaged soft plastics. Amidst increasing boat traffic, he expertly guided us to quieter fishing spots. Beyond the fishing, Captain Mike's rapport with my family impressed me greatly.
